This privacy policy explains how I (Becci Curtis) uses the personal data I collect from you when you use my website.

What data do I collect?

I collect the following data:

This website is hosted by Squarespace. Squarespace collects personal data when you visit this website, including:

  • Information about your browser, network, and device

  • Web pages you visited prior to coming to this website

  • Your IP address

This website also collects personal data to power my site analytics, including:

  • Clicks

  • Internal links

  • Pages visited

  • Scrolling

  • Searches

  • Timestamps

I share this information with Squarespace, my website analytics provider, to learn about site traffic and activity.

How do I collect your data?

You directly provide most of the data I collect. I collect data and process data when you:

  • Create an account, or place an order for any of my products and services, or make a donation. 

  • Voluntarily complete a customer survey or provide feedback via email.

  • Use or view my website via your browser’s cookies.

Customers

When you place an order, create a customer account, or make a donation on this website, I collect personal information from you to fulfil your order. I may collect information like your:

  • Billing and shipping address

  • Details relating to your purchase (i.e. which class you have chosen to attend)

  • Email address

  • Name

I share this information with Squarespace, my online store hosting provider, so that they can provide website services to me.

As you go through the checkout, this site may auto-complete your shipping and billing address by sharing what you type with the Google Places API and returning suggestions to you to improve your checkout experience. When I process your order, it may send your data to, and also use the resulting information from, credit reference agencies to prevent fraudulent purchases.

How will I use your data?

I collect your data so that I can:

  • Process your order and manage your account.

  • Email you with special offers on other products and services I think you might like.

  • Email you as part of a mailing list you have opted-in to receive.

Marketing

If you have registered, or purchased a service from me, I would like to email you with information and special offers on other products and services I think you might like. If you have agreed to receive marketing, you may always opt-out at a later date.

You have the right at any time to stop me from contacting you. If you no longer wish to be contacted for marketing purposes, please contact me. You can unsubscribe from my mailing list, or update your contact details, by clicking the link at the bottom of my monthly newsletter email. 

I share your contact information with Squarespace and MailChimp, my email marketing providers, so they can send these emails on my behalf.

How do I store your data?

I securely store your data using Squarespace, Stripe, MailChimp and Google Drive. If your account is inactive, or you have ceased to use my services, I will keep your name, email address, and purchase history (if applicable) for 6 years for the purpose of maintaining my tax records as a sole trader. Once this time period has expired, I will delete your data. 

What are your data protection rights?

I would like to make sure you are fully aware of all of your data protection rights. Every user is entitled to the following:

The right to access – You have the right to request copies of your personal data from me. I may charge you a small fee for this service.

The right to rectification – You have the right to request that I correct any information you believe is inaccurate. You also have the right to request me to complete the information you believe is incomplete.

The right to erasure – You have the right to request that I erase your personal data, under certain conditions.

The right to restrict processing – You have the right to request that I restrict the processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.

The right to object to processing – You have the right to object to my processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.

The right to data portability – You have the right to request that I transfer the data that I have collected to another organization, or directly to you, under certain conditions.

If you make a request, I have one month to respond to you. If you would like to exercise any of these rights, please contact me.
